'Loveless school chair' is a conceptual work. The chair series focuses squarely on the sustainable use of resources. Unloved and damaged chairs are collected from garbage dumps or from the side of the street. The tubular-steel frames of these found items then serve as the new raw material. Upholstery is woven around these frames, or quilted over them. The textile’s own tension ensures a comfortable seat and that the upholstery stays snugly on the frame.
The project was selected for the D3 Contest at IMM Cologne 2012.
