Conceptually, 'Buée' vases evoke a macro interpretation of industrial cylindrical parts produced by undercutting, a technique employed to create metal pieces of a low diameter such as bolts, axles, etc. There is thus an interesting reverse of perspective: whilst design is habitually at the service of industry to make products more desirable, here there are industrial references which inspire the design.
The transposition of a technique developed for metal with a view to obtaining a similar visual result with another material entirely – glass – was made possible by craftsmanship of the highest possible order. This range of vases, which will benefit from being arranged as an installation of several beautiful coloured pieces, takes us back to extreme simplicity and timelessness.
